We are looking for entry-level developers to join our team of U.S.-based contractor partners to help build products for our customers, while building skills under the mentorship of senior-level engineers.
Overview:
We are actively seeking people who are available at least an average of 20 hours per week. We can be very flexible about specific days and times that work may be performed. This position will initially require a few days of on-site meetings for onboarding, especially as new projects begin. After that, most work will be performed remotely under minimal supervision. Co-working, team programming, and other similar collaboration opportunities are available to learn and develop the skills needed to be successful.

This is an entry-level role that is ideal for someone with some general programming experience and/or education, and who would like to transition into specializing in firmware development and the lifestyle that contract work affords.
Emotional intelligence is an absolute requirement. You must be able to take and learn from constructive criticism. A good work ethic is also required. You should be goal-driven to learn and become an expert in the field.

Most Important:
- Some experience in one or more programming languages (i.e., C/C++, Python, JavaScript, Java, etc.)
- Good reading comprehension skills, especially of technical documentation
- College degree in a related field, current student, or ability to demonstrate experience in lieu of education is required
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
- Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively
- Good problem-solving skills
Considered a Plus:
- C/C++ experience
- Experience with embedded systems or micro-processors
- Basic understanding of computer architecture and operating system concepts
- Linux or other IT-related experience
- Hardware electronics experience
- Test & Measurement equipment experience (i.e., oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, etc.)
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Skilled using Microsoft Office or similar productivity software
- Experience with Version Control Systems (We prefer Git)
- Experience using bug tracking software (Jira, etc.)
- Understanding of Quality Assurance processes
